    2015 Rakuten Mobile Library Project in France

    After Beeans Inc. joined in 2014, Rakuten has continued the education activities of the Mobile Library project in France. The local NGO, Secours Populaire Francais (SPF), has supported the project and invited about 70,000 families from 70 countries to Paris, who had financial difficulties to travel on their holidays.

    Rakuten decided to participate in "Holidays for All" held by SPF and announced the first official overseas operation. Rakuten was also planning to provide opportunities for children in northern Nord, France, where has relatively low literacy rates, to make them learn the joy of reading and also to contribute to improving the rates of literacy.

    Before Beeans Inc. joined

    Continuing from 2014, Rakuten decided to participate in this event with the goal of sharing the significance of the CSR activity not only to France but globally.

    In order to strengthen the consistency of their messages, they were considering hiring Beeans Inc. once again to gain support through the “Total Service '' as their PMO.

     

    Initiatives of Beeans Inc.

    Based on our global business experience, coordination, negotiation, and language skills, we also provided support for the production of vehicles and the book cafe, event planning and management, and press releases.

    We also supported the PR activities of PriceMinister S.A. (current Rakuten France), the No. 1 online shopping destination in France that was acquired by Rakuten in 2010.

     

    Project success

    After two years of educational activities, Rakuten had received strong support from the local communities and decided to officially operate the service 10 times a month in northern France, Nord. This activity shared the joy of reading with children, contributed to the improvement of the literacy rate, and attracted great attention in France.

    It also contributed to raising awareness of Rakuten and provided opportunities to spread this activity around the world.
